Day - 20 Denali National Park

A short drive down the road (125 miles +/-) and we were at Denali Rainbow RV park.

Anytime you are close to a national park, an RV park will be "let's see how many RV's we can squeeze on to an acre of land!"
Bill and Cathy had a pull through, but we had sewer hook up.
We headed to the Denali National Park visitors center and bought tickets for an eight hour (round trip) shuttle bus ride to the Eielson Visitor Center 66 miles into the park.  The bus will leave at 9:30, but we have been advised to arrive early to be sure to get front row seats.
WE went out to see a demonstration of sled dogs and how they are used in the park.  Because of a slight communication error we took a Gustafson short cut and arrived at the last minute.  They were waiting for us to get behind the ropes before they could start.  Bill said he overheard someone ask "Are those the same people that we had to wait for on the boat?"
The demo was great and the dogs are beautiful.  After the presentation we were allowed to move among the dogs and their handlers.

The RV park recommended Alaska Cabin Nite Dinner Theater so we signed up and headed out for the 7:30 show.
Robert Service poems read dramatically, lots of music, jokes, and stories.  The food was wonderful and all you can eat of BBQ ribs, baked salmon, mashed potatoes, beans, corn, salad, rolls, and berry crisp for dessert all served home style.
I ended up helping in the acting out of Robert Service's "The Shooting of Dan McGrew"

I was chosen;
In the land of the frozen;
Where they served supper like at home;
To act a part in a Robert Service poem.
With a hat on my head from one of the staff;
It was my part was to do an evil laugh;
The poem I had read;
So I knew I'd be dead;
As the man;
Called Dangerous Dan.

We had a great time and we were all ready for bed when we got back to the trailers.
