Molly and I got a
late start so we only had one hour to climb to the overlook and back.
We didn’t make it all the way, but we went quite a bit farther
than the night before.
We topped off with
gas in Tok and set our sights on Haines Junction in Canada. It was
another long day with lots of frost heaves. The frost creates waves
and pot holes in the pavement that makes us heave!
We were again
blessed with outstanding scenery. The road gave us views of Mt.
Logan the highest peak in Canada and then hugged the shores of Kluane
lake.
Another 300 mile day
brought us to Haines Junction. We found an RV park that had full
hook-ups, but really was just a gravel parking lot with tremendous
views of the surrounding mountains. We were tired and opted for
dinner out at Frosty’s where we filled up on burgers, fries, and
soft serve ice cream. Luckily they served beer because we were too
late for the liquor store.
